Association of City Managers in Nigeria (ACMAN) is a non-profit membership based association of City Managers that include: individuals of the built environment and those that have effectively promoted city management in: planning, financing, development, and governance (urban and local), towards liveable, equitable and sustainable cities.

ACMAN is devoted to enhancing the proficiency of city managers and other public administrators by strengthening the quality of the government through improved professional management. We believe in effectively utilising and encouraging the existing expertise in city development with a focus on innovative practices, trends and concept.

We have a Mission to promote equitable, liveable and sustainable cities for enhanced quality of life and healthy environment in Nigeria.

Our goals

The goals of ACMAN are:

• To contribute to the continuing improvement of Nigerian cities with requisite capacity to handle urban issues;
• To maintain and develop the professional competence and Professional development of its members through discussions and exchange of information, workshops, seminars, capacity building, training, orientation programmes, and study tours;
• To maintain and develop relations with government ministries, agencies, civil society organizations and all other organizations devoted to the improvement, management, financing and governance of cities and urban areas;
• To generate, collate and disseminate information amongst these organisations; and
• To serve as Technical Consultants.
